Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 29, 2026

Montgomery Advisory, LLC (“Montgomery Advisory,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy and confidentiality of the individuals and organizations we serve. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and safeguard it, and the choices available to you. It applies to our website at https://montgomery-advisory.com and to the professional services we provide.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us, information generated in the course of providing services, and limited technical information from your use of our website. This may include:

  • Contact information — name, business or organization name, email address, telephone number, and mailing or service address.
  • Consultation intake information — the responses you submit through our consultation request forms, including your client type, industry, entity stage, services of interest, and a description of your needs.
  • Financial information — accounting records, bank and credit card statements, general ledger data, payroll data, invoices, budgets, and other financial documentation you provide for bookkeeping, financial management, or advisory engagements.
  • Tax information — Social Security numbers or taxpayer identification numbers, filing status, income and deduction documentation, prior-year returns, and other information necessary to prepare or review tax filings.
  • Uploaded documents — files, statements, organizational documents, and supporting records you transmit to us through secure channels.
  • Communications — emails, messages, voicemails, meeting notes, and correspondence exchanged with our team.
  • Electronic signatures — engagement letters, consents, and other documents executed electronically, together with associated signing metadata such as timestamps and signer identifiers.
  • Payment information — records of amounts billed and paid, payment status, and confirmation details. Payment card numbers are entered directly with our payment processor and are not stored by Montgomery Advisory.
  • Website and technical information — IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and general usage information collected when you visit our website.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide accounting, bookkeeping, financial management, tax preparation, internal control, business formation, and consulting services.
  • Evaluate and respond to consultation requests and determine whether an engagement is an appropriate fit.
  • Prepare, review, and deliver financial statements, tax filings, reports, policies, and other deliverables.
  • Prepare and transmit engagement letters and other documents for electronic signature.
  • Process reservation fees, invoices, and service payments.
  • Communicate with you about your engagement, scheduling, deadlines, and service updates.
  • Maintain our records, meet professional and regulatory obligations, and support quality control.
  • Improve the security, performance, and usability of our website and service workflows.

We do not use client financial or tax information for advertising or marketing purposes.

3. Secure Document Storage

Client documents are stored in access-controlled, cloud-based systems protected by encryption in transit and at rest. Access is limited to authorized Montgomery Advisory personnel who require the information to perform their responsibilities. We ask that clients transmit sensitive documents only through the secure channels we designate, rather than by unencrypted email, text message, or other unsecured methods.

4. Electronic Signatures (DocuSign)

Engagement letters, consents, and other documents requiring signature are processed through DocuSign. When you sign a document electronically, DocuSign collects and retains information necessary to create a valid signing record, which may include your name, email address, IP address, and signature timestamps. DocuSign processes this information under its own terms and privacy policy. Your electronic signature carries the same legal effect as a handwritten signature.

5. Payments (Clover)

Payments are processed through Clover. When you submit a payment, your payment card information is provided directly to Clover and is handled under Clover’s security standards, terms, and privacy policy. Montgomery Advisory does not collect or store full payment card numbers. We retain only transaction records such as amount, date, payment status, and confirmation references necessary for billing and recordkeeping.

6. We Do Not Sell Client Information

Montgomery Advisory does not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share client information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We do not disclose client information to advertisers or data brokers.

7. When Information May Be Disclosed

We may disclose information in the following limited circumstances:

  • With your authorization — when you direct or consent to disclosure, such as sharing records with your attorney, lender, insurer, or another advisor.
  • To professional service providers — technology, hosting, secure storage, electronic signature, payment processing, and similar vendors who support our operations and are obligated to protect the information they handle on our behalf.
  • To meet legal requirements — in response to a valid subpoena, court order, lawful request from a governmental or regulatory authority, or where disclosure is otherwise required by law.
  • For professional obligations — in connection with peer review, ethics inquiries, professional standards compliance, or the defense of legal claims.
  • In a business transition — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or transfer of practice, subject to continued confidentiality protections.

Tax return information is subject to additional confidentiality requirements, and we obtain written consent where required before disclosing or using such information beyond preparing your return.

8. Security Measures

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect client information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit and at rest.
  • Role-based access controls and authenticated access to internal systems.
  • Secure, all-digital document exchange rather than unencrypted email attachments.
  • Reputable third-party providers for signature, payment, and infrastructure services.
  • Ongoing review of access permissions and internal handling procedures.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Data Retention

We retain client records for as long as necessary to provide services and to meet our professional, contractual, tax, and legal obligations. Engagement records, work papers, and tax documentation are generally retained for a minimum of seven years following the completion of the relevant engagement or filing, unless a longer period is required by law or a shorter period is agreed in writing. Information no longer required is securely deleted or destroyed.

10. Your Rights Regarding Your Information

Subject to applicable law and our professional obligations, you may:

  • Request a copy of the personal information we maintain about you.
  • Request correction of information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Request deletion of information we are not required to retain.
  • Withdraw consent to optional communications at any time.
  • Request information about the categories of service providers with whom your information is shared.

To make a request, contact us using the information below. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Certain records must be retained regardless of a deletion request in order to comply with legal and professional standards.

11. Children's Privacy

Our website and services are directed to businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children except as provided by a client in connection with tax filings (for example, dependent information).

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Revisions take effect when posted, and the “Last Updated” date above will reflect the most recent version. This page remains at the same permanent address so that references from third-party providers continue to resolve correctly.
