Who it's for

The right fit

Individuals, sole proprietors, and business owners who want accurate, professionally prepared returns — with organized intake and predictable, flat-fee pricing instead of hourly surprises.

What's included

  • Individual Tax Preparation — Form 1040 returns ranging from simple W-2 filings to complex multi-schedule returns (Schedule C, B, D, E, itemized).

  • Business Tax Preparation — S Corporation (Form 1120-S) and Partnership (Form 1065) returns, single-entity and complex multi-state.

  • Quarterly Estimated Taxes — quarterly estimated tax calculations based on prior period income.

  • Prior-Year Returns — filing for a prior tax year, with fee range consistent with the current-year return type, applied per year.

  • Amended Returns (Form 1040-X) — correcting a previously filed return for income changes, missed deductions, or updated information.

  • Audit Support — document organization, notice interpretation, information-request responses, and correspondence for IRS or state tax audits.

  • Financial Record Reconstruction — organizing and reconstructing bank statements, receipts, and source documents when no accounting system exists, so a return can be prepared cleanly.

Please Note

Performed by Montgomery Advisory's IRS PTIN-registered tax preparers. Not all preparers are CPAs, Enrolled Agents, or attorneys. Preparer credentials and PTIN are disclosed to every client in writing before engagement. Non-CPA/EA/attorney preparers have limited IRS representation rights. Tax return preparation fees do not include IRS representation, formal audit defense, or tax planning/advisory opinions.

Process

How the engagement runs

Every engagement follows the same path, so you always know where you are in it.

01

Consultation

We start with a conversation about what you're trying to decide. If we're not the right fit, we'll say so.

02

Scope & engagement letter

The work, the timeline, and the flat fee are written down and agreed before anything begins.

03

The work

We handle the preparation, review, and filing — in-house, with a single point of contact throughout.

04

Review together

We walk you through the result and what it means for the next decision, not just hand over a file.

Expected outcome

A finished piece of work you understand, records that hold up to scrutiny, and a clear view of what the next decision requires.

Pricing

Range-based flat fees by return type and complexity. The exact fee within each range is confirmed in writing after an initial document review, before preparation begins. Full fee is due upon completion, before e-filing or release of the return.

Questions

Frequently asked

Anything not covered here is fair game during the initial consultation.

Do you prepare business tax returns?
Yes — S Corporation (Form 1120-S) and Partnership (Form 1065) returns are core offerings, as well as Schedule C business filings on individual returns. Complex or multi-state business returns are quoted per scope.
Do you prepare individual (1040) returns?
Yes. We prepare individual returns from simple W-2/standard-deduction filings through complex multi-schedule returns (Schedule C + E + D + itemized).
Who actually prepares my return?
Every return is prepared and reviewed in-house by our IRS PTIN-registered preparers — no outsourcing and no handoffs to seasonal contractors. Preparer credentials are disclosed in writing before you engage.
Are you a CPA firm?
No. Montgomery Advisory is a business advisory and financial management consulting firm. Tax preparers are IRS PTIN-registered; not all are CPAs, Enrolled Agents, or attorneys. Non-CPA/EA/attorney preparers have limited IRS representation rights — restricted to discussing the specific return they prepared with IRS customer service.
Do you handle audit representation?
We provide audit support — document organization, notice interpretation, information-request responses, and correspondence — but not formal representation. For audits, appeals, collections, or complex multi-state matters, the engagement is scoped accordingly and you are notified in advance.
How does pricing work?
Range-based flat fees by return type and complexity. After an initial document review we confirm the exact fee within the range in writing, before preparation begins. No hourly billing. Payment is due upon completion, before e-filing or release of the return.
What do I need to send you?
We provide an organized intake checklist covering income, expense, and deduction documentation so nothing is missed and you're not chasing paperwork at the deadline.

Let's start with a conversation — no obligation beyond it.
